Perfectly ordinary academic Paul Matthews (Nicolas Cage) has his life upended when, through no fault of his own, he appears to millions of people in their dreams. As he and his family attempt to navigate his overnight celebrity status, Paul begins to realise that tapping into the collective subconscious can unlock our deepest fantasies and our darkest fears. Writer/director Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself) matches this high-concept fable with biting humour, surreal imagery and an outstanding performance from Cage.

"Delightfully, derangedly meta...a smart, dizzyingly entertaining horror-comedy that morphs into scathing social satire."

The Washington Post

"Silly, strange, and very funny...a psycho-comic-drama with a peak Cage Renaissance performance powering it."

Empire Magazine

Why You Should See This Film

Fans of Golden Age fave Sick of Myself already know Borgli's keen eye for social satire but here he displays a real talent for arresting imagery and even moments of surprising tenderness. Outstanding set pieces aside, the heart of the film is Cage as the hapless professor totally unprepared to be the most famous person on earth, with a dream doppelganger who can be as strange, powerful or terrifying as it wants to be.
