This is a pivotal, customer facing role within the company. The principal responsibility of this position is to ensure the smooth running and operations of Front of House, including Box Office, Candy Bar & Cinema. The Front of House Supervisor must embody the Golden Age brand and will be responsible for ensuring consistently high standards in welcoming, hosting and serving all visitors to the Lorne Theatre. You will supervise a team of Ushers/Box Office staff and will oversee the service, safety and comfort of audiences before, during and after each screening or performance.
Key Responsibilities
General
Be proactive in providing theatre patrons and venue visitors with information and assistance whenever and wherever required, working with box office and front of house staff to always ensure a seamless level of quality service.
Maintaining a constant vigilance in respect to security and safety of Lorne Theatre patrons and property, including checking emergency exits and venues for potential hazards or obstructions. Reporting issues to management as required.
Acting responsibly and according to procedure in responding to emergency situations such as building evacuations, first aid incidents or disturbances, and acting in the role of Chief Fire Warden to ensure the safe evacuation of Lorne Theatre in the case of emergency, including fire panel operations, security, and lighting.
Cleanliness of venue is maintained to a high standard with our FOH team
Acting in accordance with Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and Lorne Theatre Code of Conduct and policies and procedures.
Along with the Cinema Manager & Assistant Cinema Manager assist in overseeing our licensed events and live music performances. This includes the ordering of alcohol, booking security, staff, and overseeing the operation on the night.
Complete Shift reports on a daily basis with the right level of detail captured to aid the team make informative business decisions.
Perform minor projectionist duties when required. This will include the turning on & off of projectors and setting the scheduler for films to play.
Supervision of staff
Maintain a motivated and welcoming FOH team and ensure relevant information is communicated effectively to those staff members at the start of each shift and via email when required.
Monitor staff in delivery of all current policies and procedures.
Promote a positive working environment for all staff on shift.
Ensure the Box Office and Candy Bar is stocked, presented perfectly and ready for service at the beginning of each shift.
Monitor staff’s work performance, time keeping, general discipline and adherence to staff dress code.
Assist with monitoring Box Office/Candy Bar staff performance, and oversee cash handling as necessary, ensuring tight procedures are met
Ensure 100% compliance to opening and closing procedures & checklists
Customer Service
Lead by example with the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Provide guidance and assist with any customer enquiries / feedback.
Be present in the venue during key business times to manage and improve customer’s experience.
Have a thorough knowledge of all products and memberships on offer.
Be up to date with any films currently on release as well as any upcoming events, promotions etc.
Ambassador
Familiarise yourself with the company’s mission, vision, and goals.
Represent and promote our brand positively internally and externally, serving as connectors and advocates who can articulate and humanise our brand and its promise.
Maintain a positive image of the brand at all times and help foster a sense of “one community” throughout Lorne and surrounding suburbs.
Speak and educate community & local businesses about our brand, product and services at meetings, community events, trade shows and any relevant gatherings.
Share new information and key messages about our business and goals with all staff to help create excitement and a sense of belonging.
Other Duties
Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.
Education and Experience
Minimum 1 years experience in a similar role
Having 1 to 2 years bar experience
Previous ticket selling experience preferred
Cash handling experience a must
A background in cinema, retail or hospitality supervision
RSA
Experience leading a team to provide top class customer service at all times.

Candy Bar & Box Office Attendants play an essential role at Lorne Theatre and are responsible for merchandising, stock tracking, food preparation, cleaning, sales, cash handling, takings reconciliations and providing a high level of customer service. As the face of the business and the first point of contact for guests this role is pivotal to the success of our business.
Key Responsibilities
Candy Bar Sales
Set up and pack down candy displays and prepare popcorn for customers.
Process candy bar transactions.
Reconcile cash from candy bar sales and ensure cash draws are always safely secured
Upsell our products to customers so they are aware of what we offer
Keep the counter and display neat & clean at all times
Box Office Sales
Set-up and close down the Box Office as per the opening and closing procedures.
Having a solid understanding of how to use our ticketing system Ferve. Understand how to sell, cancel and transfer tickets.
Have a knowledge of all merchandise that is on sale and how to complete the transactions.
Maintain the box office in a neat and orderly condition
Customer Service
Provide guidance and assist with any customer enquiries / feedback.
Deliver a high standard of customer service for patrons, clients and stakeholders of Lorne Theatre

Venue Assistance
Assist the Venue Supervisor in opening and closing procedures.
Facilitate the pack down of the Candy Bar and regular cleaning of the popcorn machine.
Undertake candy bar stocktake as required.
General cleaning and tidying tasks as required. This includes cleaning of the cinema between sessions, toilet checks and any other task asked by your supervisor.
Assist Ushers welcome and direct guests into the cinema at the start of sessions.
Ushering
Collect or view admission tickets from guests upon arrival and direct them into the cinema.
Examine tickets or passes to determine authenticity by validating the names and dates listed
Provide special assistance to guests with needs such as individuals with wheelchairs or other disabilities.
Escort visitors to their designated seats, when required, and inform them of the nearest exits and restrooms.
Collect disregarded for forgotten items after the event and store them in lost and found for guests to retrieve.
Greet arriving guests and answer any questions they have regarding showtimes, events or parking
Illuminate walkways once an event has started and assist guests with entering and exiting in darkened spaces
Be aware of and enforce appropriate house rules.
General
