Bea (Sydney Sweeney, Euphoria, The White Lotus) and Ben (Glen Powell, Top Gun: Maverick) look like the perfect couple, but really they hate each other’s guts. Unexpectedly, they find themselves thrust together at the same destination wedding in Australia. When Bea thinks things couldn’t get any worse, she discovers that her family have a sneaky plan to get her back together with her ex, Jonathan. To fend them off, she hatches a plan of her own – pretend to be a couple with Ben – that way he can capture the attention of his crush, and she can keep her matchmaking parents at bay. The only problem is, Bea and Ben's act starts to get a little too convincing.

Why You Should See This Film

This is perfect, escapist summer holiday cinema. Powell and Sweeney are two of Hollywood’s newest A-listers, joining a pantheon of romantic-comedy leads whose characters can’t stand each other: Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert; Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner; Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. The internet speculated about a potential romance between the two stars when they posted cheesy Instagram snaps during the film's production in Sydney. Whether Poweeney is legit or just savvy movie marketing, either way, their on-screen chemistry is undeniable.
