Skadoosh! Po (Jack Black), the world’s most unlikely kung fu master, is back after almost a decade. Dragon Warrior Po is called upon by destiny to relax a little, and choose a successor to train up as the next Dragon Warrior. But a shapeshifting wicked sorceress emerges to complicate things – the Chameleon (Viola Davis). Chameleon has her greedy, beady little eyes on Po’s Staff of Wisdom, which would give her the power to re-summon all the master villains whom Po has already vanquished to the spirit realm. Po’s going to need some help and he finds it (kinda?) in the form of the crafty, quick-witted corsac fox Zhen (Awkwafina).
“Jack Black seems physically incapable of not giving 100 percent in any film.”
“Slick, pacy and beautifully animated fun.”
The voice acting cast for this film is stacked as high as a plate of delicious dumplings. There’s Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Viola Davis, Awkwafina, Bryan Cranston, Ian McShane, and Everything Everywhere All at Once castmates James Hong and Ke Huy Quan. The martial arts sequences are rendered incredibly accurately, thanks to stunt coordinator and martial artist Don Thai Theerathada, and the musical score was written by legendary Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer (Dune, The Lion King) and his regular collaborator Steve Mazzaro.
