Overview

The latest film from Academy Award winning filmmaker Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Hunt for the Wilderpeople), Next Goal Wins is a charming story of the infamously terrible American Samoa soccer team. With the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender), hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around. Like Waititi’s previous efforts, Next Goal Wins is full of lovably offbeat humour, and embraces all the weird and unpredictable things that make us human with remarkable insight and heart.
